How can schools equip young people for adult life if they don’t know what jobs they might be doing or how they will live? Actually, it’s even worse than that. The list of imponderables stretches out: social relationships and communication, the construction and distribution of information, political culture and governance, civic engagement, the very nature of work—all are changing in ways we can only speculate about.
