To improve the quality of your child’s sleep, incorporate a review of their day in her bedtime routine for one week. Just before bed, discuss her day with her. What did she do? Whom did she see? Make sure to focus on the present day; not tomorrow’s activities. Monitor with your child, her mood, interactions, and energy level each day during the week (i.e., brief check-ins after school) to see the effectiveness of this new bedtime routine.
