Giving your child adult experiences is an important part of his or her development.  Pick one day, and as you go through your normal routine, challenge yourself to let your child be the adult as often as possible.  Examples of things you might encourage him to do include:

·         Answering your phone – especially if you know it is an understanding adult

·         Placing an order at a restaurant

·         Call customer service to resolve a small issue

Your child might feel nervous about doing some of these things, so be sure to praise and encourage his efforts.
