Activity

Summary: Show your child how germs spread and how to wash their hands with this activity.

Activity: Put glitter or flour on your child’s hands. Have them shake hands with you and another family member and show them how to glitter transfers to the hands they shake. Then help your child make up their own words to a song that lasts at least 20 seconds, like ABC or Happy Birthday. Teach your child how to wash their hands and explain they need to wash them for the duration of the song. Then, create a chart so your child can mark down every time they wash their hands. Review it at the end of the week and talk about if they are washing their hands often enough.
